Gilly's big day out

What an awesome ride - 3 takers all up to ride Tamborine and surrounds. Rolling at 6am and with a chilly 8 degrees, Gilly, Aiden and I wondered were Heathy was? Perhaps he started earlier... We got stuck into the first climb of the day - Mt Tamborine. Its a 7km steady climb, and rewarding us with fantastic views of the valley below once we crested the top.
Gilly pointing out the route for the day - it looked fine in the small print

Next stop - Beechmont then onto Binna Burra. This was a tough climb, felt like it as never going to end, and just when you think the road flattens out, it turns out to be a false flat. Getting to the top was hard work, but the descent was well worth it.

Perhaps Heathy was up the road?

We covered a lot of distance in such a short time on the way to Cunungra - this is were we stopped for a well deserved coffee and bite to eat. Last leg was an 18km flat road back to Tamborine village. It was a fast pace line back, with smooth roll throughs (must have been Gilly's influence)
At the finish - still no Heathy

It is likely Gilly will be doing this again in a couple of weeks - so if you are up for a tough but steady 4hrs in the saddle, be sure to keep an eye out for the blog entry.
As for Heathy, the inevitable conclusion, he is in stealth mode doing some secret training of his own.

Hi Boys looks like a nice ride. I think I know why you couldn't catch Heathy... Its because you were all too busy taking photos of yourselves :) Nice Blog
