Yesterday was my first race in about 5 months - and racing in Masters A probably wasnt the best choice of comeback races! The race was tough with an experienced bunch - all of them capable of tearing my legs off ... which they nearly did. Finished with the bunch in the end.Todays Elite B road race at Mt Alford saw most riders in the hurt locker. Erik, Neil and myself battled the winds and rolling hills with 50 other riders, with the race consisting of 4 laps of a 24km loop. The race was HARD. Winds in what seemed to be coming from every direction, rough roads, surges, break aways, ... in the end I would say only 20 finished. Neil was unfortunate to puncture during the latter stages of the race, which was a shame as he was looking very comfortable. Erik and i finished with the pack, but the race took its toll and neither of us featured in the sprint finish.
