Why I'm on leave Friday...but why you should track me?

To My Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Vintage Reds pedalling to Noosa for our Outback Communities

Firstly, thanks for your wonderful support on our inaugural Vintage Reds charity ride to Toowoomba last January. We managed to raise in excess of our target of $12,000 which included a cardiac monitor for the Paediatric Ward at the Toowoomba Hospital and a hi-tech Helmet for the CareFlight Helicopter.

I am now going to confess to another bout of lycra madness and draw you attention and support to the latest cause of the Vintage Reds (ex- Queensland Reds Players for those who thought we were related to red wine).

7 of the most foolish Vintage Reds (myself included!) have made a pact for another mission close to our heart. This year we have decided to work with Frangipani Dreams to build a Child Care and Medical facility in one of our struggling Queensland outback communities. On Friday 5th June at 6am (tomorrow), we will be getting out our rusty bikes, pumping up the tyres and pedalling from Ballymore to Noosa! 165km of traffic, torture, and character building. Latest news is that rain and strong winds are forecast.

The ride will conclude at the Noosa Rugby Club at sometime between 2pm and 4pm and be followed by the Gala Dinner in support of Saturday’s Clash between Qld Country and NSW Country.

Unfortunately the FOGs (Former Origin Greats) have pulled out for this ride put we hope they will muscle up for the next ride!

Who will have the first puncture?  (odds are on Anthony Herbert)

Who’s bike is first to break? (odds are on Daniel Herbert)

Who is first off the bike outside of a timed stop?

Who successfully stays on their bike up Kiel Mountain?

Are we ontime?
