Race Report - C Grade Muzz 6 Feb 2010

Grade: C “Classy” Grade

Starters: Mick McKOM, T Bonner, Dr Ben, Adam Ant

Field: 40 +

Results: Terence 2nd

Description: With Limocourov & Bockendish rising to the B grade challenge, with bulging back pockets, it was up to the 4 of us to get amongst it. After a relatively classy start, the first 15 minutes were relatively non-eventful. Only a few were willing to keep the pace up on the front with a few turns done by the D3 team. Couple at the back of the bunch tangled & bit some tarmac. None of us contested the preme, just a watching brief, but the D#3 classys put some gas on immediately for a couple of laps to set a higher tempo & string the race out. See pics below.

All too soon it was 3 laps (after only 35 minutes) to go with the usual ‘positioning’ within the bunch. Mick McKOM, was getting impatient & inflicted some wind burn on himself for two whole laps – pretty much cactus after that & collecting this week’s hardman award. Coming down toward the final corner Dr Ben had what turned out to be a reasonably short lived crack – but which sucked out some riders who were waiting for the inevitable D3CSRT move. Coming around the final corner T Bonner was placed about 10th & 20 metres in arrears. Without any obvious wheels to jump on & 80 metres to go, he jumped across to the inside and put the head down & started peddling like a crazy man - 2nd by a metre or so. Mick floated in top 10. Not sure if Adam or Dr Ben were up there (haven’t been able to check with them).
