U23 Qld crit champs

The race started at 3:00pm with 10 riders on the start line. The pace was on from the word 'go' and there was a team of 3 guys from North Queensland doing most of the work. There were breaks going up the road of a about 2 riders every couple of laps and getting pulled back by the North Queensland team. I was in the pack for most of the race making sure the NQ team did all the work. Matt Williams and James Hepburn were a main breakaway which stayed away for atleast 10mins out of our 30minute Crit. They were eventually pulled back into the pack. By the last 5 minutes there was another break with Matt Williams and Rubin Donati. Everyone in the pack including me were pulling back the break, by the last lap i nearlly dropped off the back while my bro Mitchell had already gapped it to the beak of about 30 meters. I was 20 meters behind the peloton on the on the first corner and didnt give up to catch them. I was chasing them all down the back straight and caught them by the last corner. Everyone in the peloton were looking at eachother and seeing who would make the first move. As soon as i caught them i attacked and i had Mitch on my wheel leading him out for the sprint. My legs were burning like hell and Mitch kept yelling at me to keep going. So i dug as deep as i could till i had nothing left i dropped off about 250meters to go and Mitch let it loose. He had sprinted for a win with half a bike length to spare, with a big 2 hand salute. I was happy to help my bro in his win for the QLD Crit Championships.

Nice job Stu,

I cant believe you bridged that gap on the last lap thought you were toasted, and then to see you leading out so strongly on the finish straight.
