Hi
What a big weekend!
My partner (Emily) and I decided to make a weekend of the the TSR and stayed for two nights at Stark House in Kalbar, we recommend it to anyone for a great weekend away.
Anyways Saturday came around and it was time to get out of my grand bed and get to the race. I road from my accomodation leaving at a leisurly 8am. Anyways the road race dished out some punishment but i managed to stay in the mix finishing 5th 33 seconds behind the winner. Average HR 180 and average speed 32.6 km/hr. I actually tried to break away with the eventual winner on the first lap but the main group shut us down quickly as we were not prepared to take risks on the wet and muddy corners. I did three slides on the first lap and saw 3 crashes.
So it was off to the TT feeling a little nervous and knowing it was going to be hard not to leak time to the good time trialers. I did my best with my HR averaging 182 and maxing out at 199!! and managed to come in with a 16:56 @ 42.5 km/hr. This was only good enough for 20th position and dropped me to 13th overall.
The kermesse on the otherhand was a very calm race with the pace not being pushed until the last lap. I was feeling really good but with a rookie error i put myself to far back for the sprint and only managed to finish around 7th. I don't know the official results for that one yet.
Anyways great weekend but i think i am due for a week off and i will be back on the bike soon.
Great seeing everyone else who was out there.
