The pace was not too feral as most people were taking it fairly steady going in and out of the corners. The group was stretching out but coming back together on the hills and there was only a few half-hearted efforts from people trying to get off the front.
The rain started about half way through the race and everyone started getting pretty edgy. There were quite a few retirements as the race wore on.
Todd decided that discretion was the better part of valour and pulled the pin about midway.
I got my bike sideways after about 45 minutes and would have ended up on the road had I not leant against the guy beside me. I had had enough and didn't think my watching kids needed to see me on the pavement.
Terence battled on and got in a group of 3 off the front with 2-3 laps to go. When they came past us he was pulling a big turn on the front and had his pain face on.
At the finish, 2 of the guys Terence was in the break with stayed away and sprinted for the win. Terence sprinted with the remaining pack of about 20 and got 4th overall.
Overall a good race. Would have been fun in better weather.
